Region 13 Youth

Hey guys, this is Kaysie, your youth director and I wanted to tell you what I'm doing this month and how you guys can get involved.

This month I have started to talk to a few of our youth about things they can find on our website and scholarships available to them. You can go to our region 13 website and look up the Dave Rinehart Youth Memorial Trophy and how you can register to win it and, other really cool scholarships. Just go to region13.net and look under region 13 youth.

I have also emailed all our youth coordinators in all five of our regions clubs and have asked them to email me a list of their youth so I can get to know the youth outside my area and get them involved as well. We haven't had new ideas for youth activities yet, however I hope to sit down and talk to my Vice Director Katie about it soon. Dave Rinehart Youth Memorial Trophy

David Rinehart Memorial Trophy

The first David Rinehart memorial trophy was presented in 2004 at the Region 13 show. It was a very moving moment.

We have a heart-felt presentation tonight in memory of our special friend, Dave Rinehart.
Although Dave's involvement in our Arabian youth began with his daughter, it soon stretched to include just about anyone who rode a horse. He was always there with encouragement, a pat on the back and a hearty laugh.

At shows he was invaluable as a gopher, always asking "What can I do to help?" He will be missed, but not forgotten through the yearly presentation of this award. The Dave Rinehart memorial trophy is presented to the Region 13 youth who best exhibits true sportsmanship and camaraderie which so aptly described Dave.
